Privacy Policy

The short version

Amenly is built to be private by design. Your prayers, journal entries, and reflections are stored locally on your device. We do not have a server that collects your journal content, we do not sell data, and the app contains no ads and no third-party advertising or social SDKs.

What stays on your device

• Journal content. Prayers, intentions, journal entries, reflections, and recaps are stored on your device.
• AI features.Guided reflections and scripture suggestions are generated using Apple's on-device intelligence. Your journal content is not sent to Amenly or to any third-party AI service.
• Reminders. Prayer reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device.

What leaves your device

• Scripture text. When you read or look up Bible passages, the app requests passage text from a Bible content API. These requests contain the passage reference being fetched, not your journal content or identity.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. To validate purchases and manage your subscription, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives purchase receipt information and a randomly generated app user identifier. This does not include your name, email, or journal content. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

What we don't do

• No account is required to use Amenly.
• We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers.
• We do not show ads or use advertising trackers in the app.
• We cannot read your journal — it never reaches our servers.

Data retention and deletion

Because your journal lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your journal data. You can also delete individual entries inside the app at any time. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat as required to operate your subscription.

Children

Amenly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app or on this site.
